School Visits

  • The purpose of a school visit is for the therapist to be able to assess, observe and provide treatment within the school setting.

  • A school visit often includes assessment, observation, discussion with school staff and parents and intervention to address specific needs. It is usually completed at the request of the parent or the school.

The OT can address a wide range of needs within the school such as posture, handwriting, skills for P.E, attention and concentration, sensory needs, using tools such as scissors or a ruler or skills for playing at break and lunchtimes.

Sessions can be provided to an individual child or as a group if children identified have similar needs.
